Joseph L.C. “Cliff” Wagoner, 79 of Davidson, NC passed away on September 21, 2019. He was born on October 23, 1939 in Teaneck, NJ to the late Robert Vernon Wagoner and Marie Clifford Wagoner.
Cliff was a graduate of Cornell University and Northeastern University. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Air Force where he served as a First Lieutenant. In 1965, he joined Boston Insulated Wire and Cable Company where he was Vice President of Engineering for the following twelve years. He was then recruited to work for Schlumberger in Houston, Texas as a Vice President staying for fourteen years. Then in 1991, he moved to the Charlotte area where he worked as Vice President of Engineering for Kewanee Scientific Corporation and retired in 1994. During his retirement years, Cliff and his wife, Meg, moved to Pennsylvania where they lived for the next five years. Returning to Davidson, NC in 2004, Cliff enjoyed golfing and his passion as a ham radio operator and  served as Secretary with the Carolina DX Association, but above all, he was truly a family man and will be missed by all who knew him. Cliff is survived by his loving wife, Margaret K. Wagoner; daughter, Karen Smelcer and her husband, Chris; daughter, Joan Beetstra and her husband, Stephen; grandchildren, April Walker, Tim Smelcer, and Maggie Beetstra; and brother, Robert Wagoner Jr.
