How has your life differed from what you expected? I left Cornell after 3 years to start medical school in Philadelphia. I expected to practice medicine but I had no idea how much I would enjoy it and how much I would love being here in Philadelphia, with no plans to retire.

Cornell activities post-grad: Reunions and Cornell Adult University.

Personal reflections: First my sister, then I, my wife, and one of my daughters attended Cornell, making it a very special institution in our family. Therefore it became especially memorable to plan and then succeed in introducing another generation of our family to Cornell in July, 2010 when Evelyn and I took our oldest granddaughter Noa (age 12) to Ithaca to visit Cornell and the wonderful state parks, waterfalls and gorges.  The highlight for her was Sapsucker Woods, but for us it was so many memories on campus. We did take her to Sage Chapel and sat looking at the memorial stained glass window to the Mississippi Three, including our classmate and my fraternity brother Michael Schwerner. I try to get there every trip back.  I will always remember the outstanding contribution to our society that these three young men made and paid for with their lives.
