Outstanding Cornell memory: I can’t single out one.

How has your life differed from what you expected? When I left Cornell I expected to be a well-educated wife and mother who was active in the PTA and League of Women Voters and who took a lot of continuing education courses. Instead, after my kids had all started school, I went to law school, became a corporate litigator, worked extremely hard, loved it and am still doing it.

Personal reflections: I met my future husband in the Co-op while I was buying my books for the fall semester of my sophomore year. We will celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2011. Among my dearest and closest friends today, are those I met at Cornell. The world has changed enormously in the past 50 years, far more than we could have imagined in 1961, and my own life took a direction I had not anticipated. Nevertheless, these relationships born at Cornell have endured and flourished. No wonder I get teary every time I hear the alma mater.
