William Peter Francyk, M.D. 1939 ~ 2005 Prominent Board Certified, Invasive
Radiologist, Dr. William Peter Francyk passed away July 11, 2005 after a long,
progressive illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York June 26, 1939. He was the only
son of Rose and Martin Francyk. Education included graduation from Valley
Stream Central High School, Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and the
State University of New York Medical School, downstate. After interning at the
University of Utah, Salt Lake City, he pursued his Radiology residency at the
University of Wisconsin, Madison. Two years Naval service followed. Bill then
returned with his wife and children to Salt Lake City where he instigated the
angiography program at LDS Hospital. His extracurricular interests included
skiing, competitive sports, spending time dabbling in the stock market, and
world-wide travel. His greatest pride and joys
were his children, Tara, Peter,
and David; and his knowledge that he was an excellent radiologist who made a
positive change in so many of his patient's lives. He leaves behind his
children, Tara (Bret Wells), Peter (Sunni), and David (Jennifer);
grandchildren, Emily Wells, Julian Moon, Braedon Francyk; and his life time
friend and ex-wife, Joan. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 13,
2005, 3 p.m. at the Park City Cemetery and will be officiated by Reverend
Paddy Wood. The family asked that all those who knew Bill celebrate his life
in their own special way.
